NIGERIAN FROWNS AS PRESIDENT GOODLUCK MAKES ANOTHER FLAW

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
Just about three weeks ago, the Australian negotiator, Dr. Stephen Davis named the duo of former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, as sponsors of Boko Haram. Last week, the spokes person for the DSS, Marilyn Ogar while exonorating Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika she mentioned that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff had been invited for interrogation twice and they were going to do the same again.

It was a big surprise to me when our President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was pictured in Chad Republic in company of the same Senator, Ali Modu Sheriff. One would expect that even though they had dealings, he (GEJ) would distance himself from him for now especially when his name has been mentioned in connection with the Boko Haram group (a world accepted terrorist group) for that matter.

Meanwhile, the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria (TAN), a group believed to working for the re-election of the president put up a bill board sign in Abuja with the hash tag #BringBackGoodluck2015, this was condemned by the Washington post and well meaning Nigerians saying it was a mockery of #BringBackOurGirls campaign which his government has failed so far tackle.

But in a swift reaction, State House Press gave a release in respect of the signs

Find the State House press release below...

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has directed that the #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs and banners around Abuja which he and many Nigerians find offensive and repugnant  be brought down immediately.

President Jonathan wholly shares the widely expressed view that the signs which were put up without his knowledge or approval are a highly insensitive parody of the #Bring Back Our Girls hash tag.

While President Jonathan appreciates the enthusiastic show of support for his administration  by a broad range of stakeholders, he condemns the #Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs which appear to make light of the very serious national and global concern for the abducted Chibok girls.

The President assures all Nigerians and the international community that his administration remains fully engaged with efforts to rescue the abducted girls and that he will not knowingly promote any actions that will fly in the face of the seriousness of their plight and the anguish of their families.

Well said, but you would expect that the President distance himself from the activities of TAN, their campaign strategy in my opinion not professional at all.
