Dr. (Mrs.) Idiat Oluranti Adebule - first from left holding the ribbon |
The Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Dr.(Mrs) Idiat Oluranti Adebule has been picked to run as deputy governor alongside Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (APC governor elect) come February, 2015.
If APC emerges as the winner for Lagos state during the general elections come 2015, Dr. Adebule would be the fourth female deputy governor Lagos state would have produced since our democracy started in 1999 (15 years back).
The first person being Mrs. Bucknor Akerele (though her tenure was short-lived as she was impeached due to her misunderstandings with the then Governor - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu), the second was Adebisi Sarah Sosan (Mrs.), a teacher who ran alongside Gov. Fashola during his first tenure in Office, The third is Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulure who is presently serving with Gov. Fashola after serving in the capacity of Head for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA - whose tenure saw a number of vocational training facilities come up at different Local Government/Council Development Areas).
The fourth hopefully will be Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, an indegene of Ojo town in Lagos, a former lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Lagos State University, (an appointment she held before becoming the secretary to the State Government).
