CHELSEA CAPTAIN, JOHN TERRY GETS NEW ONE YEAR CONTRACT

Chelsea captain - John Terry

The management of Chelsea football club has offered captain John Terry a new one-year contract and he is considering whether to accept it, according to the club.

Terry will be out of contract at the end of the season, now 35, in January said he would not be extending his stay.

"With it coming so late in the season, this is a big decision for John and his family and it is something that they are now considering," said the club.
Chelsea will be managed next season by Italy boss Antonio Conte.

He takes over from Guus Hiddink, who replaced Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese's sacking in December.

"It's good to have big players in a club who are big personalities," said Hiddink, when asked about Terry at a news conference on Friday.

Chelsea play champions Leicester on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, but Terry is suspended after being sent off at Sunderland.

The defender has made 703 appearances since his debut in October 1998.

We can only wish him best of luck.
